This 2-day course will cover the basics in veterinary dermatology. We will start with a review about anatomy, physiology, and terminology of the skin and their appendices.
The main focus of the first day will be getting familiar with the diagnostic methods and to learn how to obtain and process the samples.
On the second day we will start with practising microscopy. The goal is to become familiar with recognizing cells and microorganisms. Pruritus is one of the core clinical signs of dermatological problems. You will learn how to systematically workup a pruritic patient, identify and manage allergies. The afternoon of the second day will be dedicated to case discussions. You are welcome to present and discuss with your own challenging cases.
